Creating Hyperlinks in Reports

To create Hyperlinks, perform the following steps:

  1. Select Document List in the Callidus Reporting & Analytics (Reporting & Analytics) InfoView.
  2. Navigate to the folder in which you want to create the hyperlink.
  3. Select New > Hyperlink. The Hyperlink window displays.
  4. Enter the title, description, keywords, and categories for your hyperlink under General Properties.
  5. Under URL, enter the URL of the report you want to create the hyperlink to, starting with /Reporting & Analytics/extLinkByProviderLink.do?. Use %20 in the URLs for space. You must encode the parameter values when creating the report links.
  • To link to a Crystal Report, create the link as follows:
/Reporting & Analytics/extLinkByObjectName.do?objType=shortcut&objName=[name]&periodSeq=[periodSeq]

If the link to the Crystal Report is a shortcut, the objType is shortcut. If the link to the Crystal Report is not a shortcut, the objType is crystal-report.
  • To access the hyperlink inside of a Crystal Report, create the link as follows:
/Reporting & Analytics/extLinkByObjectName.do?objType=shortcut&objName=[name]&periodSeq=[periodSeq]|&sf={name_of_report}='[position]'

For example:

/Reporting & Analytics/extLinkByObjectName.do objType=shortcut&objName=JHaas&periodSeq=January2009|&sf {perPeriodContributingCreditIncentive.PositionName}='Sales%20Director%20-%20East'

Make sure to add | between periodSeq and &sf=.
  • To link to a Web Intelligence report, create the link as follows:
/Reporting & Analytics/extLinkByObjectName.do?objType=report&objName=[name]&periodSeq=[periodSeq]

Optionally, you can add folderName so that the report is queried under this folder. The folder name can be a partial name. The folder name must be unique in the BusinessObjects repository; otherwise, only the most recently created folder is searched for the report. If the report is in a user's Inbox, use myInbox as the folder name. For example:

/Reporting & Analytics/extLinkByObjectName.do?objType=report&objName=[name]&periodSeq=[periodSeq]&folderName=myInbox
  1. Click OK.

Note: Due to the 'Web-AnalyticInter activity' feature, web reports are launched by default in an interactive mode and the user can customize the data accordingly.

Note: Due to pdf format limitations, hyperlinks from one pdf report to another always redirects a user to the beginning of the report.
