By default, Workflow automatically adds this action as a non-transitional action on all workflow statuses, and applies default configuration settings. You can deselect the action when you create a new status, and can add other actions. You can later remove actions, or modify the action settings.
The Attach File action enables end users to attach files to the case. Users can also label the attachment to easily identify the contents of the uploaded file. Workflow allows users to upload an unlimited number of files of any file type, up to 25MB per file. You can set restrictions for file size, file type, and the number of files users can attach to a case in the Advanced Settings. You can also use scripts to validate file types that users upload at the time the file is uploaded. See Execute Script on File Uploads for more information.
Workflow doesn't display the Attachments panel on the case details page until the case has an attachment. Users will initially use the Attach File action in the Actions panel to add a file attachment. Then, they will be able to use the icon, or a link in the Attachments panel to add new attachments.
After a file is attached, end users can also add file revisions, replace the file, preview, download the file, and delete the file from the Attachments panel. The Attach File action needs to be added in order for end users to add file revisions.
You can also configure the Delete Attachment action if you want to enable users to delete attachments they've added. When either the Delete Attachment or Attach File actions are unavailable to the user, then users will not be able to replace files.
