Use the Custom Fields workspace to update and create custom fields.
To access the Custom Fields workspace, go to Setup > Fields & Forms > Custom Fields.

You can create Custom Fields in one of two ways:
Form Designer: For more informations, see Form Designer.
Setup tools, described in this article.
To create a new custom field using Setup tools:
Click the New Custom Field link.
Complete the form fields on each of tab:
Click Add.
The Basic tab enables you to configure these field options:
Name: Enter a name.
Select Workflows Where You Want To Add Field: Select one or more workflows to which to add the field.
The field will be added to the Create Case action and all Edit and View actions that use the default settings in the selected workflows. If you do not select any workflows, you will need to add the field to individual workflow actions.
The Extended Mode allows you to store additional characters in a field. This option is available when you create any of the following field types:
HTML Content
Large Text
Long Text Hidden
Rich Text Editor
By default, these fields can store up to 4,000 characters. In Extended Mode, they can store up to 100,000 characters. Keep in mind that in Extended Mode, you will NOT be able to:
Warning: The Extended Mode is available only when you create the custom field. After you create the field, you will not be able to change the Extended Mode option setting. If you need to enable Extended Mode on an existing field, please contact SAP Sales Cloud Support.
Select the system roles and permission groups that will be able to view the new field. This permission determines whether the field is visible on forms, case lists, or on the Find Cases workspace. Workflow also enables you to add a new permission group in this tab.

Select the system roles and permission groups that will be able to edit this field. If users do not have this permission, then the field value displays, but they cannot edit it. Workflow also enables you to add a new permission group in this tab.
The following is a complete list of available custom field options. The actual options that display depend on the field type you select:

Default Value
Assign an optional default value that will be prepopulated when the field displays. If you don't enter a default value, the field will display without a value.
Add a brief description. This is used as an internal note for administrators.

Select the file types a user can upload.
File Upload
Object Class
Enter the class that corresponds to the custom object field when you load an object from an integrated application, such as Commissions or Configure Price Quote.
Custom Object
Custom Object - Label
Enter a label for the custom object.
Length
Assign the maximum number of characters the user is allowed to enter into the input field. Use a numeric value to define the maximum character length, and Workflow will restrict the user from entering a value with more characters than this number.
Maximum
Maximum value that can be entered into a numeric field, such as Number, Percent, and Decimal Number. Use a numeric value to define the maximum value, and Workflow will restrict the user from entering a value that exceeds this number.
Maximum File Size
Enter the maximum size of the file in KB a user can upload. Enter a numeric value only.
Maximum Image Width
Enter the maximum width of an image in pixels a user can upload. Enter a numeric value only.
Image Upload
Message Key
This is a dictionary key that represents the label of the field in a different language. This field is restricted to a maximum of 50 characters. For more information about dictionary keys, see Dictionary.
Minimum
Assign the minimum number of characters that the user is allowed to enter into the field input. Use a numeric value to define the minimum character length, and Workflow will restrict the user from entering a value with less characters than this number. When used with a numeric field such as Number, Percent, and Decimal Number, this will restrict the user from entering a value that is below this number.
Number Format
Select the desired number format from the list.
Regular Expression Validator
Select an optional validator from the available list. This option will validate the value the user enters against the standard format. You can also add additional regular expressions. See Regular Expression Validator for more information.
Scale
Set the number of decimal places you wish to display. You are restricted to a maximum of eight decimal places.
Display this field in:
Enable either option to make this field available for end users to add to case tables and in the Find Cases workspace. These options are enabled by default.
Use these settings to configure the custom field alignment and placement on the page while in edit and view modes. These alignment settings only apply to these field types:
