Workflow enables you to create global parameters that you can then access using scripts. We recommend you add parameters from any external database or FTP site that you want to use to exchange information.

To create a new parameter:

  1. Go to Setup > Development > Custom Parameters
  2. Click on the Add New button.
  3. Enter the form field values:
    • Name: Enter the name of the parameter.
    • Description: Enter the description of the parameter.
    • Type: Select a parameter type:
      • Text
      • Integer
      • Password: After you add a password value, Workflow encrypts the value and displays asterisks instead of characters. You cannot change the value.
    • Category: Enter the category of the parameter.
    • Value: Enter the value of the parameter.
  4. Click Save.

When you change the value of a parameter, make sure you click the Submit button at the bottom of the page. If you make an update/change to any setting, make sure to Save/Submit it before navigating to another page, failing which a warning message will pop-up.

Note: Custom Parameters that are type PASSWORD are encrypted in the database.
