Global Action Settings

When you open the Global Action Settings workspace, we display a list of workflow and user actions that you can configure with default action and notification settings. Certain workflow action settings are configured in the Form Designer, while user actions only require notification settings.

You can access the workspace by going to Setup > Processes > Global Action Settings.

You can configure default settings for the following workflow action types in the Form Designer,  which will define the default layout for the action in all workflows in the tenant: 

You can revert an action to its default settings by clicking the Default action in the Form Designer Action Toolbar. You can also override the default settings on an action by choosing the Use Custom Settings option while editing a workflow action. See Use Custom Settings for more information.

    To Edit the default layout settings using Form Designer:

    1. Go to Setup > Processes > Global Action Settings.
    2. Click the Edit button near designated action type.
    3. Click the Edit Default Form button.
    4. You will be redirected to the Form Designer page where you can customize the action by adding custom and standard fields, forms, and other UI components.
    5. Click Save to save your default screen layout.

    Workflow enables you to define the default notification settings for workflow and user actions. For each action, you can configure the notification group that will receive the notification when the corresponding action is executed. You can also add new notification groups in the Notification Groups workspace. See Notification Groups for more information.

    In addition to the above workflow actions, you can configure the following actions with notification settings within Global Action Settings workspace:


    To Edit the default notification settings for an action:

    1. Go to Setup > Processes > Global Action Settings.
    2. Click the Edit button near the desired action type.
    3. Add the notification group that you want to receive the email when the action executes, in the Notifications field.
    4. Click Update to save the settings.
